Where did the name Dreambeans come from? What does it mean?
The name combines two ideas at the heart of the app. The “dream” is how the app works overnight to find meaning in the content overload across your connected apps. It then distills what it finds into “beans” - a fresh collection of stories brewed for you each morning.
Why is access to Dreambeans limited?
We appreciate your interest and patience as we work to bring Dreambeans to more regions and users.
We’re working to bring our tools to as many people as possible. We are taking a measured, phased approach to ensure we deliver the highest quality experience.
Starting with engaged users in a single language allows us to monitor performance and refine the capability before we expand.
Who is eligible to join the waitlist?
Currently, the waitlist is open to eligible users in the United States who are 18+ and have a personal Gmail account.
How can I control my privacy?
You are in control. You can change which connected apps connect to Dreambeans, review feedback history, or delete your data by clicking your profile icon in the Dreambeans app. Note, the choices you make in Dreambeans do not impact the choices you make in Gemini Apps or AI Mode.
Can I delete my history?
Yes. You can delete your history by clicking on your profile in the app and selecting "Delete my data." Alternatively, you can click on the sparkly tuning icon or go through your profile to "Feedback History" to delete specific pieces of your feedback history.
I keep seeing mistakes or weak recommendations. What should I do?
Dreambeans is an experimental AI app. If it surfaces an irrelevant story or inaccurate visual, we encourage you to use the tuning feature or tap "thumbs down" on any story to provide feedback. This allows you to fix a specific detail, validate a recommendation, or tell Dreambeans "Not for me" to help improve future surfacing.
Please note that Dreambeans takes a day to synthesize your collections, your tuning corrections will be applied to your future drops, rather than immediately updating your current stories.
What connected apps need to be enabled for Dreambeans to function?
To get up and running, you must connect at least one connected app in Dreambeans because Dreambeans relies on this data to proactively build your personalized feed. You can choose to enable any combination of Google Workspace (which includes services like Gmail, Calendar), Google Photos, YouTube or Search.
For example, Workspace supplies ground-truth transaction data like receipts and upcoming flights, Photos provides the visual memories and insights about you and the people in your life, YouTube identifies your active hobbies, and Search detects your budding interests. By combining all these unique signals, Dreambeans can proactively generate rich and highly customized daily visual stories.
The choices you make in Dreambeans do not impact the ones you make for Personal Intelligence in other products like Gemini Apps or AI Mode.
To start, you'll need to log into your personal Google account and set up your data permissions. Dreambeans isn't an "all-or-nothing" system; you use settings in the app to curate exactly what connected apps it can securely synthesize, including Gmail, Calendar, Photos, YouTube and Search history.
Once your sources are set, Dreambeans requires up to a day to build your first set of stories. We will notify you via in-app notifications the moment your first stories are ready. After that, new stories arrive daily.
Note: To feature you and your loved ones, Dreambeans requires Google Photos face grouping to be enabled.
Dreambeans is an experimental technology built exclusively for your personal account. If you choose to install, it can access your Gmail, Calendar, Photos, YouTube and Search history.
While Dreambeans is designed to proactively surface what you might find helpful, it may get things wrong. You can use the thumbs down button on any story to fix details or share your preferences via the sparkle (tuning) button. The system will learn and improve for your next drop.
You can also delete all your data from Dreambeans at any time via in-app settings.
Dreambeans creates stories based on things you might be interested in based on the personal context from the apps you choose to connect. It could suggest places to visit, topics to explore, things to try, or events you might be interested in.
Every story is illustrated with personalized, AI-generated artwork. If a story involves you or the people in your life, Dreambeans uses Google Photos and Nano Banana 2 to personalize the scene rather than relying on generic stock photos.
Dreambeans gives you more control over what you see within your stories.
Tuning feature: You can interact directly with the suggestion chips or tap the "thumbs down" button on any story to signal that something isn't right. This opens a quick chat where you can provide feedback, validate a recommendation, or share that the content is "not for me" to halt future surfacing. Your feedback won't alter your current stories—instead, your corrections are processed overnight and reflected in your future stories.
Take action: Some stories include one-tap actions like "See Ticket" or "Watch Trailer." Dreambeans will point you to the right place to get more info or take the next step.
